Using environmentally friendly way to pack your belongings is a wise move, when you are changing move home or office. Here are some clever eco-friendly packaging concept that each of us can use in our daily lives, and reduce waste.
Use Pillows and Cushions as Padding Fillers
Your planning should start at least four weeks in advance and therefore collecting padding fillers is a great idea. Padding fillers not only protect the fragile items but even save them from any unnecessary wear and tear. If you don't have the time to collect padding fillers, you can recycle old pillows, cushions, blankets, soft toys, sheets to layer crockery and cutlery in boxes. Another alternative is borrowing bubble wraps from your removalist which are recyclable and eco-friendly.
Re-using Old Cardboard Boxes and Creating DIY Boxes
Bring out clear plastic box stashed away in your storage for packing. You can re-use old empty boxes of television, furniture etc. To hold them better you can create triangular cut outs on the side of the boxes. Don't forget to stick a paper on top of the box with the items it contains, this will help the movers pick and choose the clear plastic box to load in the truck. If none of these work, rent recyclable plastic boxes from movers which can be delivered to your home. This way you are saving on fuel, time and of course, money.
Believe in Multi-utility
You don't need to store everything in boxes. There are plenty items that can be stored smartly and save space while loading the truck. For example you can use the inside of your washing machine for light storage; you can let the light items remain in drawers with locks so you won't need to rearrange; you can cover the mattress with extra sheets to protect it from debris and dirt.
Go Paperless! Keep a Photo Record of Boxes
Reduce the use of paper as much as possible. This is from the frequent use of smart phones daily chores. So, start taking pictures and phone box to make your task list precautions. You will save a lot of time, it is easier to keep things in the precious record. You can even share it with the facilitator in advance can help them in loading trucks. This is definitely a wonderful idea to go paperless!
